Japan 2012
3. April 2012A gift from Shiraishi Sensei – a Handmade Tengumask.
With Thomas Schmidt, he was my 4th Godan-Test I had done in Japan.
Kaname, a painting from Hatsumi Soke. It means “essence”, or “essencial point”. It refers to that which is necessary for a thing to be what it is. For example, each technique has something about it makes it unique. Those things are “Kaname”, the things that make the technique what it is, distinct from other techniques, the things that comprise its essential character.
